Employer coalition offers pharmacy groups funding to set up diabetes programs
The National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) has granted awards to 14 groups so that they can set up programs to improve diabetes care. Among the recipients are the FrontPath Health Coalition in Perrysburg, Ohio, for a program on medication therapy management and the Western North Carolina Health Coalition, to expand the Asheville Project for improved medication compliance among the employees of small companies. NBCH said this is the first time it has given out funding for this diabetes program. Supporting this effort are Novo Nordisk, Merck & Co., Pfizer Inc., and sanofi-aventis.
