Pennsylvania Pharmacy Association: Promoting the Profession to Enhance Patient Care
President of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association, John DeJames, shared his organization’s goals for advancing the pharmacy profession.
During a moment in the pharmacy industry that feels like a significant turning point for many, continued advancement of the profession relies on a myriad of actions, advocacy, and stakeholders to play their parts respectively.
At the Total Pharmacy Solutions Summit Winter 2025 event, John DeJames, president of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association (PPA), discussed his mission as head of the PPA as well as his organization’s goals to advocate for every pharmacy professional in the state of Pennsylvania, and for the profession as a whole.
“When you think about the magnitude of having 300 white coats walk through the capital of Pennsylvania, we had several legislative appointments, both on the Senate and the House side, which made that even better,” said DeJames during his presentation. “At the end of the day, we're there for one common goal and that's basically to enhance patient care services [and] provide a better model to keep all of us in pharmacy sustainable.”
Throughout the presentation, DeJames presented to the Total Pharmacy audience a multitude of ways the PPA has been working around the clock for its members, from hosting pharmacist-led summits to physically advocating for legislation in the state capitol.
