Part D donut hole to be 'brutal'
The "single most brutal issue" with Part D will occur this summer when enrollees hit the donut hole and start paying out-of-pocket for their medications, according to George Pillari, CEO of Copay Solutions.

The "single most brutal issue" with Part D will occur this summer when enrollees hit the donut hole and start paying out-of-pocket for their medications, according to George Pillari, CEO of Copay Solutions. Speaking during a Medicare Part D Executive Roundtable teleconference cosponsored by Drug Topics and the Global Knowledge Congress, he said he wouldn't be surprised if there is emergency funding for enrollees in the donut hole similar to what occurred in January when many dual eligibles couldn't get their medications.
