Pain common even in hospitalized patients at low risk
More than 40 million inpatient surgical procedures are performed every year in the U.S. The management of pain during hospitalization and after discharge is a serious concern for healthcare professionals and their patients. The findings of several studies indicate that pain is common among hospitalized patients, yet analgesia is inadequate.
