New bill to create Medicare-run Part D plan
The Medicare Prescription Drug Savings and Choice Act would create a Medicare-administered Part D prescription drug plan and also would mandate prompt pay from Part D plans to pharmacists.

Legislation has been introduced in both the House and the Senate that would give CMS the power to create a Medicare-administered Part D prescription drug plan. The Medicare Prescription Drug Savings and Choice Act also contains prompt-pay provisions that would force PBMs to pay pharmacies within 30 days.
