Group wants outpatient departments exempt from CMS regulation

ASHP fights federal rule to report NDC numbers.

ASHP has asked the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) to clarify a regulation requiring hospital outpatient departments to report national drug code (NDC) numbers for "physician-administered drugs." In a letter sent last week to HHS secretary Michael O. Leavitt, members of hospital and pharmaceutical organizations claim
