Duane Reade, a leading drugstore chain in New York, and the New York Yankees announced that they have teamed up to raise more than $157,000 in their "Strike Out ALS" campaign.

Duane Reade, a leading drugstore chain in New York, and the New York Yankees announced that they have teamed up to raise more than $157,000 in their "Strike Out ALS" campaign. The proceeds were raised by inviting all Duane Reade customers to purchase $1 paper baseballs at any of 245 locations from April 19 to June 11. All funds raised will be donated to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association Greater New York Chapter, which is dedicated to the fight against ALS, often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's disease."
