In this episode of the podcast, Shawn and Jesse discuss how every situation has a solution and the best way to find it.
In Dispensing Leadership, a podcast offering from Drug Topics® and RPhAlly, Shawn Bjorndal, PharmD, RPh, a visionary health care executive with over 16 years of experience and founder of PGxAlly, and Jesse McCullough, PharmD, a pharmacist-turned-entrepreneur with a passion for leadership development, discuss essential leadership skills for pharmacists, how to develop them, and, ultimately, how to advance the pharmacy profession.
In this episode, Shawn and Jesse continue their discussion about developing your personal philosophy. Specifically, Jesse delves into the idea that no matter the situation that you find yourself in, there is a way to figure it out. Jesse goes on to say he believes this philosophy is one the most important for leadership. He adds that the key way to living this mindset and implementing it in your daily life is by taking things one move at a time and figuring out what the next step is on the way to your ultimate goal.
“Everything may start off to be a big challenge,” Jesse said. “If we have the right philosophy, if we're willing to stick with it, if it's to this idea that there is a solution out there, it's just a matter of being able to find it. Who knows how many times you're going to have to try and perhaps adjust and learn. You're going to have to go through some bumps and bruises along the way. I absolutely believe that things are figure-outable. That mentality has served me so well in the second half of my career.”
