Cardinal Health is expanding services and tools designed to help independent retail pharmacies maximize revenue and improve patient care. Among the new offerings that were announced at the company's Retail Business Conference in July are a third-party claim management offering that will now be offered at a flat monthly rate, audit assistance, and a medication therapy management education program. Cardinal also unveiled programs to offer advertising support, expand front-of-the-store general merchandise, and help establish in-store clinics. "We feel retail independents play a key role in the health care of this country, and we want to make sure they continue to thrive," Steve Lawrence, VP of marketing at Cardinal, told Drug Topics. "We can continue to shift our company to fully support independents."
