New Mexico has become the 12th state to legalize medical marijuana. Gov. Bill Richardson has signed a bill, which would let certain patients such as those with AIDS, cancer, or glaucoma relieve their pain with marijuana as long as they have an order from their physician. Observers note that by taking this position, Richardson, who is running for President in 2008, is signifying that states should do what they think is right for their citizens free from meddling by the federal government.
